SIRENS

Shagufta is one of the founding members of SIRENS - a collective of award-winning spoken word artists and musicians brought together to respond to the climate emergency through powerful, collaborative performance. Formed during the 2020 lockdown following an open call for artists, the group creatively reimagines the environmental crisis at a time when it runs parallel to the global pandemic.

Alongside fellow poets Chris White, Liv Torc and Peter Bearder, and musicians Hal Kelly and Pete Yelding, Shagufta helped shape a show that blends poetry, humour, storytelling and music to explore personal and collective responses to climate change. The resulting performance offers a bold, emotional and timely reflection on the state of the planet - interrogating injustice, sparking joy and building community through shared experience.
