Funded by Bristol Legacy Commission, Bristol City Council, Bristol’s City Museum & Art Gallery and Building the Bridge, project managed by Glenn Carmichael of Poetry Slam, 'Proud 2 B a Poet' was a fast and fabulous InterSchool Slam with 5 Bristol secondary schools performing poems on the theme of 'IDENTITY'.
The workshops and rehearsals that took place over 3 weeks, and the young poets shared a stage with guest poet Mohammed Yahya, who started the proceedings with some inspirational spoken word.
The winning team were:
'Young Aspiring' from Orchard School

St Bede's Catholic College's 'Just A Number' .
The winning school:

Overall an exhilarating and moving event, where some of Bristol's finest young poets spoke out, voiced their sense of identity and told the world who they really are.
