Rethinking the Mosque: Sacred Space and the City’
Is an impact project that applies proven, successful research with collaborative participatory arts to improve inter-faith communication and cross-cultural dialogue in urban planning contexts. The project provides engaged public and stakeholders with a platform for real-time conflict resolution in planning and building Islamic spaces in European cities. As such, it actively addresses religious discrimination in urban planning by linking interdisciplinary expertise with community groups and public institutions in decision making fora. The project will involve interdisciplinary expertise and facilitation from the UK and Italy, and took place in Rome during April, May and June 2017

Working with the wonderful and talented Elizabeth Mizon, to create a poetic film addressing the controversial 1970s virginity testing that was carried out by UK Immigration on women migrating from South Asia to the UK.
Salaam Shalom and Ammerdown’s creative dialogue residential will take a group of young people out of the city, into rural Somerset for four days in Aug 2015. Young people will be provided with the opportunity to participate in a creative programme of activities, that encourages and provides a safe spaces for open and honest dialogue amongst young people from diverse faiths and cultural backgrounds.
Performance poets from around the UK give voice to passions, issues and stories from the quirky to the political, from gender to bees, and from mythological women to reasons to love. Expect heart-warming humour, lyrical ingenuity and buckets of belief in this theatrical and unique spoken word directed by groundbreaking writer and performer Hannah Silva.
Public Address: The Soapbox Tour features an ensemble of exciting and dynamic spoken word artists including Justin Coe, Jasmine Gardosi, Shagufta K Iqbal and AJ McKenna, who have been brought together by Apples and Snakes especially for this tour, with guest performances at every event.

'Mehfil' was a unique community arts initiative between St George's Concert Hall and Silai for Skills, which at emoted to capture the stories of 20 South Asian women, of any age, and of varying backgrounds, through the unique language of South Asian Poetry.
Ten performers will be placed in different parts of Bristol at different hours of the day on Sat 7 May with the challenge to describe everything they see and hear. These descriptions, recited like prayers, will delve into the people, attitudes, architecture, habits, sounds, smells and impressions of Bristol.
Funded by Bristol Legacy Commission, Bristol City Council, Bristol’s City Museum & Art Gallery and Building the Bridge, 'Proud 2 B a Poet' was a fast and fabulous InterSchool Slam with 5 Bristol secondary schools performing poems on the theme of 'IDENTITY'.
